Presentations in this track will focus on the tools proposed to help projects produce reports on the quality of the code and/or first results and milestones of the SQuAT (Software Quality Assurance and Trustworthiness) initiative.

11:45: ETICS supporting compliance and interoperability, Gabriele Giammatteo, Engineering Group.
Abstract: ETICS is a service-oriented system which supports its users in building, testing and in verifying the quality of the software produced. With ETICS it is possible to define, execute and analyse a large range of software testing cases, from static code analysis (e.g. documentation coverage, PMD metrics) to unit testing, to compliance testing, to deployment and functional testing in a multi-node environment created specifically for the test execution. ETICS build, testing and quality verification tools are offered as a service to open source projects within the OCEAN project. In this context ETICS mainly simplifies and supports testing activities improving the quality of the software being produced, verifying its compliance to standards and its interoperability features. This presentation can be seen as a continuation of ETICS presentation given last year at OW2 conference 2012. It aims at showing results from the use of ETICS as one of OCEAN services and at illustrating the approach developed to support software compliance and interoperability for the verification of the compatibility to OCCI and CDMI standards.

12:00: Antepedia Reporter and Fossology: Updates and new challenges toward software tracking throught the whole software life cycle, Guillaume Rousseau, Antelink.
Abtsract: During this talk we will describe how tools dedicated to open source components and source code scanning like Fossology or Antepedia Reporter help development tools to enforce open source licensing policies. A particular scope will be provided on new trends and challenges regarding Software tracking issues which no longer focus on open source component tracking, but tracking of all artifacts produced over the whole software life cycle including source code items and build artifacts.

12:15: A living story: measuring quality of developments in a large industrial software factory with Spago4Q, Daniele Gagliardi, Engineering Group.
Abstract: Open Source has no more intrinsic value per se. Nowadays it is facing new challenges, such as stimulating creativity and bringing innovation into market. One of its major challenges consists in delivering valuable outcomes, which requires a PMAI approach: Plan metrics and dimensions of analysis, get Measures and global performance value from data, Assess results and Improve processes by solving issues and removing bottlenecks. Spago4Q makes this happen. Main goals achieved are the continuous improvement of quality practices, the measurement and enhancement of productivity and the development process compliance with quality certifications such as ISO and CMMi standards. QESTnd - an n-dimensional measurement model - allows to collect performance values on three dimensions of analysis (Economical, Social and Technical) in order to identify process areas that need improvements. Drill-down capabilities provide both a unified view of the global performance of the Labs and detailed views of the single process dimensions.

12:30: Managing risks in OSS adoption: the RISCOSS approach, Xavier Franch, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya

Abstract: Inadequate risk management has been identified among the top mistakes to avoid when implementing OSS-based solutions. Understanding, managing and mitigating OSS adoption risks is therefore crucial to avoid potentially significant adverse impact on the business. We present RISCOSS, a forthcoming risk-aware decision-making platform integrating business and technical levels. RISCOSS maps collected data into risk indicators and then into business goals.
