The presentations in this track provide an overview of solutions proposed by OW2 technologies or external projects that help solve the problematic of large-scale data in the framework of cloud computing.

- 05:15pm: How to maximize the value of Big Data with SpagoBI suite through a comprehensive approach, Monica Franceschini, Engineering Group, SpagoBI.
Abstract: The vastness and variety of the Big Data landscape requires a new explorative paradigm to analyze data and extract new value from information. The speech describes the approach adopted by SpagoBI suite to manage large volumes of heterogeneous structured and unstructured data, to perform real-time Business Intelligence on Big Data streaming and to give meaning to data through the semantic analysis. SpagoBI supplies meaningful data insights through the main concept of persistable and schedulable datasets, and using tools such as self-service BI, ad-hoc reporting, interactive dashboards and explorative analysis.

- 05:30pm: Scalable ETL with Talend and Hadoop, Cédric Carbone, Talend.
Abstract: ETL is the process of extracting data from one location, transforming it, and loading it into a different location, often for the purposes of collection and analysis. As Hadoop becomes a common technology for sophisticated analysis and transformation of petabytes of structured and unstructured data, the task of moving data in and out efficiently becomes more important and writing transformation jobs becomes more complicated. Talend provides a way to build and automate complex ETL jobs for migration, synchronization, or warehousing tasks. Using Talend's Hadoop capabilities allows users to easily move data between Hadoop and a number of external data locations using over 450 connectors. Also, Talend can simplify the creation of MapReduce transformations by offering a graphical interface to Hive, Pig, and HDFS. In this talk, Cédric Carbone will discuss how to use Talend to move large amounts of data in and out of Hadoop and easily perform transformation tasks in a scalable way.

- 05:45pm: Altic's big analytics stack, Charly Clairmont, Altic.
Abstract: For a long time Altic has been an active member of the OW2 BI Initiative. Since a few years, Altic has taken a deep interest in the Big Data technologies, like many others actors of the OW2 consortium. Some of them even have added new features related to Big Data in their offers. Altic and its partners, Talend and Engeeniring Informatica (SpagoBI), have decided to create a Big Data Stack using their own solutions. The magic thing : Altic hasn't changed the way its projects are done but only learnt how to store Big Data and compute them. In this presentation we will propose to discover our Big Data stack with : * Hadoop and Spark to store and compute data * Talend DI to create Big Data tasks published and scheduled in SpagoBI * SpagoBI to manage security and allow end users to access to data visualization. For a more user friendly Big Data stack we provide new components : * tMahout talend component which helps us to create Datamining job inside Hadoop without code development in MapReduce paradingm, * SpagoBID3Engine which provides easy manipulation of data to develop beautiful data visualizations
